Valentine's

Jason was so thoughtful this year for Valentine's. When I got to work on Wednesday last week, he had sent me flowers. I thought it was a little odd he sent them so early, but we had a busy weekend ahead of us. But then on Thursday another package arrived with chocolate covered strawberries. They looked yummy and very fancy!

We gave Jason a "flower garden" out of Reeses hearts with a little poem. Then we got him a new spring shirt with some flip flops. I think I was hoping it'd brighten this dreary weather! Jaydon was excited to get a new tool kit as he sees Jason using his tools quite a bit as the basement is getting finished. He played with this for a long time!

Love my boys, hope they had a Happy Valentine's!

Congrats to Austin & Caitlin

Posted by Picasa
My sister got married yesterday and it was so nice to be there! She looked beautiful as ever and we were so glad to be able to share Austin and Caitlin's special day with them. After their sealing, they had a luncheon at the Hilton across from the temple, then later we got together for a few pictures before the reception began. It was so pretty there and everything turned out looking great! Jaydon was having a good time and ran around like crazy! He wouldn't stay still at the temple, or the luncheon, or the reception! They had a dessert bar and a candy table, so it wasn't hard to find Jaydon...he definitely has a sweet tooth! Congratulations on a wonderful day! We're glad we were able to share it with them!

Happy Birthday!

With cold weather after Christmas we always make a list of things to celebrate, at least until warmer weather and air we can breathe comes.
1st on the list is Jason's birthday. He was at work all day and so when he got home, we had a cake and presents for him to open.

When Jason opened up this candy bars he said "YES!" So, Jaydon is doing that in this picture. He copies everything we say, and includes a little action with it too!

Here's all of us. Someday Jason will appreciate that we took this picture to see how we all changed!

We ended up going to Winger's for dinner and Jaydon loved it. He loves eating out and getting to sit in the booster seats, and the drinks with straws. I couldn't get him to look at me once they gave him his drink! So, Happy Birthday Jason! Thanks for all you do for us, we love you!

A few of his favorite things...

There are a few things that Jaydon does everyday. One, he gets into everything, everyday. I mean that too. It seems like I go after him and clean up whatever he's into...
He loves the bathroom and closet. He usually plays with Jason's shoes, putting them on, and walking around. And he usually goes for the toothpaste and wants to eat it. This time, he got out a bunch of product and was pretending to do his hair. I guess he's paying attention to us when we gel his hair! (Notice he's smiling in the bottom picture, he said "cheese when he saw the camera!)

We also watch "papa and Russell" at least once a day (AKA, Up!) Actually we probably have it on 2-3 times. Jaydon knows certain parts of the movie now too. He will say "tractor" or "balloons" or "stairs", or he gets up to knock on the wall when Russell knocks on the door, saying "knock, knock". He can now say Kevin as well. Good or bad to let him watch it so much, I don't know. He is learning stuff, right?! I could probably recite the whole movie, but I lost interest in sitting down and watching it about 30 times ago. Now I just check in on him if I'm in a different room. This movie has helped with his 1st favorite thing of getting into everything!

Well, Christmas has come and gone. It seems like it's been a while now, but I wanted to post a few pictures of our holiday.
First off, Jason had off about 10 days, so it was so nice to have him around to help with Jaydon. When Jason went back to work,
Jaydon was a little sad and wanted daddy once he'd pulled out of the driveway, but things are back to normal and we are getting back to our normal day to day lives.
We went to my parents this year for Christmas and Jaydon had a blast running around with the cousins and enjoying his friends. He woke up on Christmas morning to find that Santa had brought him lots of fun stuff! Grandpa was the 1st to see the excitement, then dad, and then I pulled myself out of bed to see his face as he saw the loot. He played with his basketball almost all day. He was first picked up to the hoop, then he threw it up standing almost right under the hoop, then after a little practice, he stepped back and was a natural! He loves playing basketball and I can definitely say Santa found a winner! He also loves Barney and wanted him out of the box right away! My parents gave all the kids HUGE bean bags and that was a lot of fun as they opened them together! After playing all day, Jason and Jaydon zonked out on the couch right before dinner! We spent the next few days there, came back to Logan, to turn around the next day and spend a few days to hit two family parties, visit Jason's sister, and take Jaydon to the lights even though he didn't like being in the freezing cold!
The time went by so fast with Jason home, it hardly isn't fair, but we had a lot of fun and relaxation...now we are finding other things to look forward to and work on. Jason's back to work, we are working on lining things up to finish our basement, and realizing that we have birthdays and such to look forward to before the sun warms us back up!

It's Almost Christmas!

We are so excited for Christmas to come! Jaydon is at the perfect age, young enough to be in awe at the lights and snow! And not old enough to want specifics for Christmas so shopping was easy!
We were outside and Jason took him into the snow and he was really worried about it sticking on his boots, and certainly didn't want it on his hands! One day I was shoveling and he didn't want to come in. So, I lured him into the garage and shut the door. FINALLY, he came in after playing with some sidewalk chalk for awhile. He also has a "I love Santa" shirt we put him in. It is a little girly and perhaps it's sending the wrong message for Christmas, but he did get a few comments while wearing it! He is all boy and loves sports and so hopefully Santa will find him and give him something to occupy his little mischievous mind! Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and lots of fun!

Thanksgiving week

Jaydon has just realized that when he says water, he gets a bath. The other night we were eating dinner and he hands me his plate. I said to him, "Are you all done?" and he nodded while saying "Water, water, water." So, he's extra clean lately!
We went to visit grandma and grandpa (and everyone else) for the weekend too. Aunt Shay had a guitar out in her room. When she showed him how it made sound, he was not shy at trying it out, he loved it!

With so much family around, I didn't watch Jaydon as well as I do at home.
The 1st night we were there, he realized there were Barbie's upstairs. He and Addy were up there playing for awhile one night. He must have thought all of the Barbie stuff was pretty cool, because we don't have them at home. (Nor will we until we have a little girl.)

Jason was also helping Jaydon play air hockey. He really didn't "play" but he was laughing and having a good time.

Jaydon is too spoiled to talk about. This is him in our bed one Sunday morning. I needed to get ready and since Jason's at meetings Sunday morning, I put in Barney, gave him some milk, and the remote. It kept him entertained for quite awhile!

Like I said, he is spoiled! But a couple weeks ago when Jason was gone, I was getting out chicken nuggets for dinner. He saw the ice cream and wanted that instead. So, he had ice cream for dinner! (Don't worry, he ate real food later.)
