Jori's Blessing

We blessed Jori last Sunday and it was a great day. All of our sibling were able to come except my sister on her mission. We were worried when we woke up to a little snow wondering if the drive would be good for everyone but it worked out and we had a full house. I think we ended up counting 52 people in all...it was a little crazy and sort of packed but really fun to have both of our families here!

Grandma and Grandpa S with Jori

Cousin Kyler and Jori. He is a couple months older.

Our best family picture. That is sad to say because it isn't very good. We felt a little busy I guess and by the time we got to taking this Jaydon was out of his church clothes and with the living room full of people, we took it in Jori's room. Bet you couldn't guess that!

My brother Devin and I with the babies.

Jori at two months (a couple days after the blessing). We took her in and she weighed 10 lbs and was 21 in. She is a little chubs and cute as can be. It feels like she always belonged and we love her to pieces!

October

I tried to narrow the pictures down but with October gone and Thanksgiving in a couple weeks here it goes...

Jaydon went and got his books one night when I had Jori in our bed. He came and got next to her with a stack of books starting with Sam I Am, that's what he calls it anyways.

Jaydon was watching Cars one day and went and got all this stuff. That is him sitting in his "car", the pillows are tires which he kept changing and the edge of the couch cushion and side of the couch is where he'd fill up with gas. His stool is his steering wheel and the blanket his seat, you get the idea...

Had to make it to the Pumpkin Walk. We went with my sister and her husband and kids and my other sister T. It was fun and Jaydon was excited to see Addy again.

Here they are at the end.

Addy, Jaydon and Brynlee as Jessie, Buzz, and Woody

Jori is our frog...

And our cat...

Jaydon and Jori the night before Halloween.

Carving pumpkins with daddy

Had to make Jaydon a jet pack once he realized his costume didn't have one with it.

On Halloween we went to my sisters house to make cookies and play,

At the neighborhood trunk-or-treat.

Already digging into his loot.

Now onto the holiday season!

Adjusting to our new life!

I can't believe that it has been over a month since our sweet Jori came to us! And to think I am not really due until next Monday! I keep getting those weekly pregnancy emails and I used to read them, but not anymore! Jori is a good baby and sleeps a lot but she has her nights and days mixed up and has me wrapped around her finger (and daddy too!). She will cry at night and I am not sure if it is me not wanting her to wake up Jaydon or what, but we don't let it last long until we go get her. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever get into a normal day-to-day routine again, but slowly we are getting better at the regular life stuff and each day we are dressed and ready (even though we hardly go anywhere) earlier and earlier. These two kids are what makes me smile and everyday it is for something different! I love them!

Jori at one month.

Jaydon loves to hold his sister....for a few minutes. Then he tells us to come and take the baby.

Jaydon got down with Jori for tummy time. He was so excited to get out his play mat and let Jori use it. He always tells me that he used certain stuff I get out when he was a baby but now he's a bigger boy. He is such a big helper!

How could I forget? Jaydon started pre school but I forgot to post this "1st day" picture. It is actually the 1st day I took him to school. At 1st I thought maybe he wasn't ready but now he is pretty good at getting ready to go and he runs to the door when we get close enough! That makes me feel much better knowing he likes going!

Jori Bella

Jori Bella was born September 9, 2011. 5 lbs. 2 oz. and 17 inches. She is 9 days old now and the time has gone so fast. I thought I would write down the "story" here as she made an early arrival for us. I think looking back I knew she would come early...just not as early as she knew! She was almost 6 weeks early. I had been extra swollen and I always played it towards being pregnant in the summer and the heat. I went in for my appointment the Wednesday before she was born and my doctor said I had just got myself a ticket to Labor and Delivery as my blood pressure was high as well as my protein and extra weight gain. I went up, they monitored me for 3 hours and sent me home to do the 24 hour urine test (it was interesting to do!). I was told to come back Thursday, drop off my test, do a blood pressure check and come back Monday when my doctor was back in town. When they did my blood pressure, it was really high again so the doctor on call sent me back up. I thought what a waste to keep going up for a few hours to go home. The doctor ended up coming upstairs to talk to me and tell me she was being over cautious but they wanted to keep me overnight and do steroid shots for her lungs. I was upset but I did it anyways. Friday morning at 3 am I was feeling uncomfortable and a little pain, but the nurse said they would come in at 5am to do another blood pressure test, then I could get the second dose of the steroids and I thought I'd be on my way (Jason was home with Jaydon as his 1st day of preschool was Friday). Anyhow, no one came in and the pains got worse but still bearable and the monitor didn't show contractions, but I finally pushed the nurse button at 5:30 am and asked if they were contractions. They replaced the monitor as it had slipped and sure enough they really were contractions. The nurse said she'd call the on-call doctor and ask if I should have pain medicine or medicine to stop labor. I said ok and they left the room at 5:45. I kept waiting for them to come back and I was finally screaming and crying and yelling for help as it was really PAINFUL...finally when I thought I couldn't handle it anymore, my water broke at 6:10, I pushed my button and the nurses all ran in and told me to wait to push. The doctor there was finishing a delivery down the hall. I couldn't wait so they left me in the bed I was in and the doctor rushed in and she was born at 6:35 am. I had always wanted an epidural and know I know why! I also wish someone would've checked my monitors because they would've seen I was having contrations.... Oh well, they told me her weight and length and took her to the NICU. I was yelling at them to call my husband, but no one could get him so as I was being sewn up, I called him and he was there so fast! It all happened so fast! She really is doing good and is such a good baby. The nurses all love her to pieces and she's got a lot of boyfriends with the male nurses! She is working on building strength to eat, but her lungs are now good and her oxygen is getting better. We love her to pieces and she melts my heart. I love being up at the hospital with her! Anyhow, that's her story!

Daddy and Jori

Finally able to hold her.

Miniature Golf and Spaceships

We are trying to do fun stuff with Jaydon even though I hate being out in the heat! He loved the golfing at Day out with Thomas and so we took him to a place here in Logan. He had a good time but 18 holes got a little long. They even offered another round because we got there early enough, but we didn't do it..it was still fun.

Jason and his dad finally got our sink/cabinet in the bathroom in downstairs. The bathroom is the last thing we needed to do and all we had left was the sink and then the trim moulding and touch ups. They left out this foamy thing from around the counter top and Jaydon ripped little pieces off and they were all over the floor. He was in his "spaceship" for a long time so it was hard to know if I should stop him or let him have at it....all I can say is watch out for Buzz Lightyear this Halloween, he is on a phase right now.

Dinosaur Park

Couple of weekends ago Jason got off early so we decided to go to the dinosaur park. Wasn't sure if Jaydon would like it or not, but he took a nap while driving there and got out and was more excited than we thought. Some of the dinosaurs scared him but they didn't do anything so once he realized that he was fine.

Two cool dudes in front of the big dinosaur.

Jaydon thought these picture boards were the best.

This picture is funny because he didn't want to stand on the right side of the fence, but that explains his face.

They looked for gold in this thing too. Jaydon didn't seem to care.

He really liked feeding the fish and ducks. We spent too much time letting him do this....

Lastly, I realize there are no pictures of me, but that is on purpose! I am super swollen with this pregnancy and it seems like it is always really hot! I've had my picture taken every couple of weeks, but I look puffy in all of them! Anyways, almost 7 months-not too much more to go, we can't wait to meet her!

July 4th weekend

We had a fun 4th of July weekend and Jaydon had fun with Jason home. We went swimming, to the Logan fireworks, and then to Idaho Falls. It was nice to havetime together.

Jason and Jaydon playing football before the fireworks began in Logan

Jaydon at the parade. He loves fire trucks, cars, floats, candy, anything really that is at the parade!

Jaydon and Addy playing games at my parents house. They had a bucket of really sticky, big bubble stuff. The kids thought it was fun.

Another game of hitting the water bag. The kids liked this too, and it was nice and cool when it broke too!

Our plans were to come back after a few days, but we ended up staying. It was nice to do that though as my sister was leaving on her mission on the Wednesday after. All of my sibling were there and so it was good we stayed.
